Over time they can become really dirty and even get some rust spots on them. Surprisingly, most people have no idea how to clean the exhaust tips on their car. How to Clean car Exhaust Tips
The first step in this process is to get as much of the dirt and grime off from the exhaust tips as possible by simply using soap and water. When you are washing it, make sure that you rub hard, just be very careful that you do not scratch the chrome finish. Typically you will not be able to get all of the dirt and grime off in this first step, and that’s totally ok. The next thing you need to do is dry off the exhaust tips with a towel and prepare to wash them again. However, this time be sure to use vinegar in the wash process to help remove the dirt and grime that is harder to get off. For the third and final step, use some of the  finest steel wool that you can find and dip it in vinegar. This will help you get off any rust spots. Again, be very careful not to scratch the chrome finish.
