Summer is officially here, and that means the 4th of July holiday is right around the corner. A lot of people are still trying to figure out what they want to do for the holiday. The 4th of July isn’t complete without taking in one of the many great local fireworks shows going on throughout our community. You could also have friends and family over and have a fireworks show of your own at home if you do not want to attend one of the public shows. There will be a fireworks show lighting up the sky on Robins Lake Beach on July 4th. Check out the official event website to learn more.

Freedom Fest

Another fun idea for the 4th of July is to check out the annual Freedom Fest at the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center. This is a community-wide Independence Day celebration that is free to attend. The event will be held from 11:00am to 5:00pm and will feature music, food, kids activities, historical reenactments and more.

July 4th Star Spangled Beach Party

The 4th of July Star Spangled Beach Party is a fun annual event that is held at Robin Lake Beach. It will start at 8:00am and will go well into the night. Some of the highlights of this fun party include: beach activities, live music by the Swingin’ Medallions, and of course, a fireworks display that should not be missed.

Have a Patriotic Cookout

In our opinion, there is no better way to celebrate the 4th of July than to get together with your family and neighborhood friends and have a patriotic cookout. Throw some brats and burgers on the grille, fly a few American flags and enjoy each other’s company while celebrating our Nation’s freedom, that’s what the 4th of July is all about!
