Tires

Giving the tires a once over is probably something you already had in mind, as we said these aren’t quite as easy to overlook as others. But it’s important to do more than just a once over. Get real close to each tire, check their tread, make sure they aren’t too worn down or worn down unevenly. Make sure everything looks good, and then have them pop the trunk and check the spare tire as well because it’s just as important.

Wheels

While you’re looking at the tires, make sure to check the wheels as well. Make sure there aren’t any cracks in the structural integrity of the wheel or the wheel well, make sure none of the lug nuts are missing, just make sure everything is intact on each one.

Exhaust

Now this last one might be as easy to overlook as the things listed in previous articles, as most people don’t think to look at the exhaust system. But just take a look underneath the vehicle in question and see if the exhaust system is rusted or damaged. The easiest way to do this is by finding the tailpipe and following it to the front of the vehicle, just making note of excessive rusting or any other damage type. You should also listen for any excessive hissing or loud noises on your test drive, as that may mean your exhaust system has a leak.
