Before you can start cleaning, gather the following supplies: a clip or clothespin, white vinegar or vinyl upholstery cleaner and a cloth. Once you gather all of those supplies you are ready to begin cleaning by following the simple steps below.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Cleaning Your car Seat Belt

  1. Begin by pulling out the seat belt as far as possible. This will allow you to easily clean the areas of the seat belt that are hidden in the track.
  2. After that you’ll need to attach the clothespin near the reel. You do this to stop the seat belt from being pulled back inside.
  3. Next you’ll use the white vinegar or vinyl upholstery cleaner to clean the seat belt. To clean it, just spray the cleaner onto your cloth and then use the cloth to clean the seat belt.
  4. Finally, be sure to leave the seat belt pulled out until the belt is completely dried.
