Car issues can be very frustrating for the average person. For most of us, when our car makes an unfamiliar sound we don’t know if the engine is about to blow up or if it’s nothing to worry about. We recently had a customer come into our dealership that thought he was having some transmission issues with his car. Therefore, we got the idea to write this article to highlight some potential warning signs for automotive transmission issues, continue reading to learn more about this story.

Transmission Fluid Transmission Slipping

If you notice that your car seems to over-rev when your vehicle is supposed to shift, it means that the transmission is slipping. The engine may change pitch or start to sound like it is whining when this is happening. Your car may also seem like it’s underpowered or isn’t accelerating the way that it should when the transmission is slipping.

Rough Shifts

The next sign that you are having transmission trouble that we are going to discuss is rough shifts. When this happens, your car may feel like it refuses to change gears like it normally does, or the gear shifting isn’t very smooth. You will also usually hear a clunk sound when your car is shifting rough.

Fluid Leak

Fluid leaks are never a good thing when it comes to your vehicle, and that is especially true when it comes to your transmission. Therefore, you should take your vehicle in to get it serviced if you are constantly having to refill the transmission fluid and notice wet spots under your car frequently.

Transmission Warning Light

Most newer cars also come with a transmission warning light that lets you know when there is a problem. You should take you vehicle in and get it looked at if this light turns on.
