The first thing to keep in mind when examining a dashboard warning light is its color. The color of the warning light is an easy way to note the seriousness and severity of the problem. For example, a light that is blue or green is typically just an informational light and is nothing to be alarmed or worried about. On the other hand, a light that is yellow, orange or red may be a sign of a more serious issue. Therefore, if you notice a yellow, orange or red light, we highly encourage you to take your vehicle into a service center and get it checked out as soon as you can.
Understanding Dashboard Warning Light Meanings
Looking at a dashboard warning light can seem very foreign at first. However, once you know what you are looking at, most of them are fairly easy to understand. For example, if a warning light pops up showing a picture of a battery, you’ll want to get your battery and alternator checked out. If a light pops up that says ABS, it means that there is an issue with your anti-lock braking system that needs to be addressed.
