We are coming to the end of another Alabama summer, and it has certainly been one for the record books. We’ve had lots of amazing events take place and the weather has been absolutely amazing for the most part. Unfortunately, summer is about to end and we have to start gearing up for the fall season. However, that doesn’t mean that the fun has to end. There are still lots of fun events going on throughout the fall season. One of the most popular fall hobbies for our local residents is running, especially in the fall. Running in the fall can be more appealing because it isn’t quite as hot as it is in the summertime. The Color My College 5K event taking place at Auburn University puts a unique twist on the popular color run craze that has been sweeping the nation. Everyone who runs in this event will be wearing the Auburn University school colors, which are blue and orange. All of the proceeds from this event benefit the RIF Project, which stands for Reading is Fundamental. The RIF project purchases and distributes over 75,000 age level books to 25000 children across the state of Alabama each year. This event truly offers someone for everyone to enjoy. AORTA Tough Ten and Tough Two

Where: Auburn, AL

When: October 8, 2016

Time: 7:30am

This event gives participants the opportunity to run, jog or walk a scenic 10 mile or two mile route throughout the scenic and rolling hills of Auburn. Strollers and dogs on leashes are also welcome at this event as well. All proceeds are donated to the East Alabama Medical Center’s Foundation for Breast Cancer Early Detection and all participants will be given a pink ribbon to wear.
