MORE EVENTS IN THE COMMUNITY_df

Mother’s Day Tea

At 1:00 p.m. on the day of, you can head to the National Civil War Naval Museum for another one of their Victoria Tea events. A traditional 19th-century tea just like they had in Victorian England, including china cups, scones, clotted cream and even a light lunch. Executive Director Holly Wait will also be highlighting special moms from the Victorian era while also filling attendees in what kind of role women took on throughout the Civil War.

Mother’s Day Weekend Celebration

If you’d rather attend something a bit less formal than Victorian tea, then perhaps the Mother’s Day Weekend Celebration at the Columbus Civic Center at 400 4th St. is the right event for you. Four hours of incredible music from huge acts including Freddie Jackson, The Dramatics and Michel’le, you won’t want to miss this outstanding local concert.

Mother Daughter Formal

Finally, if you’d like a mix of the first events formality and the second’s fun, consider attending Judge Not Inc.’s Mother Daughter Formal on April 29th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. You get to dress up in your best formalwear and attend a fun evening of dancing and fun with your mother. You can even submit an email to get your mom recognized in the program, and will then be given a moment to give them thanks and acknowledgement during the event.

Each of these events offers something different, and as a matter of fact it just so happens that you could attend all three with mom if you really wanted to. Whatever you decide to do for Mother’s Day, we simply hope you have a wonderful time with your mom.
